A TOAD! I was busy cutting perennials back in the front garden on Saturday and out came Mr. Toad with a handful of sticks! I put him in a safe place, but now that we have the cat issue, I hope they don't enjoy toad! I looked out this morning and he is tucked away staying quiet at the moment. WHOO HOO! Don't needlessly use chemicals in your garden, please!
hi little toad!lol like your last line admonishing peeps to not needless use garden chemicals. there are so many "little critters" using "our" gardens as homes. solitary bees and other insects crawl into our woody stemmed things to overwinter and many others like this toad, little mice and chipmunks and others, burrow under the leaf litter etc. against our fences. i got so disheartened this month when many peeps in our town were frantically raking out all there fences and gardens and burning like crazy. i though, you know our weather isn't even good enough for alot of the creatures to have even emerged yet and they are probably burning thousands of small lives! love your blog karen and it encourages me to stay upbeat. seeing you enjoy your little toad in the garden is truly uplifting!! big hugs :)
ReplyDeleteIt was so unexpected, but a wonderful feeling of accomplishment that we are doing something right. Just hope that one person who may be using chemicals on a regular basis will read this and change their ways! Thanks as always for your comments. A big hug back. ;>}
