Herbal Sculpture!

This is an 'African Blue' Basil.  I had to make the photo X-large to emphasize the beautiful flowers that are still hanging on.  I'll get a closeup later for you.  The Herbal Husband has been babying this plant, because it would have been long gone if it had been in the garden!  When it is out on the patio, the bees are still going crazy for it.  Hope you have great fall weather where you are!

  3. Is that what those plants are really called? I thought they were called "butterfly bushes". At least that's what I always heard. I planted one last summer and expect lots of buzzing critters around it next year. By the way...see my blog for a special picture just for your enjoyment.

  4. Well, Julie, you probably do have a butterfly bush because for you and me this 'African Blue' basil would not come back because it is an annual for us. It may in some circumstances seed itself, but for me it happens very, very occasionally! Thanks for stopping by.

  5. We have ten degrees of frost (Fahrenheit) this morning. Our flowers are nearly all gone now; thank you for sharing your late blooms . . .
