Darn Birds!

The birds are eating the ripe brown figs!  My favorites!  We ran out of bags or we might have bagged the whole tree!  Hasn't been a fun year.  No grapes because of frost, little raspberries because of too much rain and stink bugs.  Now the stink bugs, pill bugs and birds are getting the ripe figs!  Ugh!  Hope your day is going better than ours!  We have had minimal rain from Karen.  Hope you have a great weekend!  Talk to you later.

  1. Well, I am lucky to have YOU as a friend. Both you and Sue Branch stuck by me through that fiasco last year. I'm glad I listened to your wisdom.

Mockingbirds have been eating my Brown Turkey figs, but the raccoons are worse. But hey, I love the mockers and welcome them to my garden. I've harvested about 100 great ones, more on the ground and pecked.

    Hugs,

  2. That is very disappointing and I don't know what to tell you. I do recall accidently squeezing a stink bug in my hair as a child and that was awful!

  3. Ditto for me as well, Sharon! I'm always here for you. I hope you know that! We have a raccoon as well. The Herbal Husband has been moving his pepper plants into the house at night because of the raccoon and the deer have moved onto our patio and been browsing! I know I was late to the party with Sue's book. I think I'm getting the third printing! xoxo N

Oh, Berideen, it's life as a gardener. I think it has just gotten harder over the years! Yes, the stink bugs are the new enemy here! I was really depressed and stressed out about them most of the summer!

Thanks ladies for stopping by as always! xo
