More Harvest Time!

The Herbal Husband wanted you to see his figs.  These are the green ones.  His favorites!  I do like these, but the brown ones are later and I like them a little bit more!  Don't tell you know who!  Yes, that's The Herbal Husband hiding among the plants!  Our herbal arboretum!  Well, it is still hot and humid!  We finally got 1.6 inches of rain last night!  It either doesn't rain or it rains buckets!  Hope you are having a good day wherever you may be!  Talk to you later!

  2. I've never tried the green fig either.
My Mother-in-law always wanted me to plant a fig tree and I never got around to it. Maybe I will next year.

  3. That shy man! You should be growing a fig with all of your other pastimes, Leslie! You have a little extra time! LOL! A big hug for you always!

Carol, they are delicious and fairly easy to grow in a container. Although they do get big, but they are so worth it!

    Thanks for stopping by, ladies.

  4. I'm jealous! We can't grow figs in Utah. At least not in northern Utah where I live-maybe in southern. They look so good. I bet a whole lot better than Fig Newtons, right?

  5. Yes, Julie, there is no comparison between a fresh fig and a Fig Newton. My extension educator equated fresh figs with Fig Newtons and The Herbal Husband changed her mind. She loves fresh figs now! Sorry you can't grow them, but you do have lovely views where you live! That's a bonus! Thanks for stopping by.

  6. OH FIGS! We have a tree that was very neglected by the last home owner and it is starting to look better. It has VERY small figs. But they are tasty. And we just planted another fig tree that was designed (I know that is not the right word but it works) for our area. Just planted it in Jan and it has figs on it already. AMAZING plant. I think I would like to plant one more. Your HH has lovely figs! Emily
