Blooming in Time for Thanksgiving!

Yes, my Christmas cacti are going to be my centerpieces for Thanksgiving!  They are just a little off.  They bloom again next Easter as well!  Need to get outside and rake more leaves.  The neighbor's tree is a giant oak that is still losing its leaves.  Sooo we may be raking until Christmas!  Hope you are having a great day!  Talk to you later.

You just reminded me I need to get some Christmas cactus. I had a nice one in CA. but because of the move and the uncertainty of where I would be and how long, before we found a home.........sigh.....I gave them away.

I hope to a good home, seanymph! The Herbal Husband seems to root leaves like crazy. Wish we could send you one! Thanks for your comment and for stopping by!

I noticed little buds on my Christmas cactus this morning and was so excited. I have three that I rooted last year from leaves I picked up off the floor at work. So they are small but cute!

They start to bloom, Carol, because of the shorter days or longer nights! Thanks for stopping by!

Good for you! My own Christmas cactus is so confused it bloomed at Halloween...it put on quite a show but could have waited a tad longer!
Mine is about 18 years old and was given to me when I opened the quilt shop. It does repeat blooming later in the winter too but not as much as the Fall timing.

Enjoy your blooms and have a good Thanksgiving!

I need to get another one of these. It's been years and years since we had one.

My Christmas Cacti is just beginning to bloom - as it does every year this time. I've begun calling it my Thanksgiving Cacti. Sometimes it blooms again later, but it seems to need the cool dark evenings outside in early fall to get it started. Then when I bring it inside it immediately starts to put out buds.

Ours is indoors all of the time, Ginny! Good to know that ours is not the only ones that bloom at Thanksgiving! Thanks for your comment. Nancy
