Getting Ready for Some of the Kids to Come In!

The Rosemary is Still Blooming!
Lavenders are Looking Good Even the 'Coconut Ice' on the Left!
The Pineapple Sage in Flower is the Best!
The prostrate rosemary is doing very well in the container and will find a place in our garage this winter.

The lavenders will go on the western facing windowsill, including the little guy, 'Coconut Ice'.  We had this one in the trough that we had to replant and it languished through the summer.  I found this information from Van Bloem Gardens in Meridian, Mississippi:  'Coconut Ice' lavender is 16-18",  has dense, silvery-green foliage with spreading, uright habit. Flowers are clear pink before turning white. On the same spike more mature flowers show white, creating a stunning bi-color effect. Fragrant.

What can I say about the last photo, but what a fabulous show in the fall.  It is too bad that hummingbirds missed it!  They were gone early it seems.  It was a beautiful day in the 'Burgh.  I was inside making a batch of hot pepper jelly!  We are going down to the wire.  The temperatures are getting colder at night.  I have to work on the pineapple sage and lemon verbena jellies this week.  Rose geranium and rosemary garlic jellies will be made after that.  Our local ice cream place closes today!  We had to go and get one final ice cream cone!  Hope you had a great day wherever you may be!  Talk to you later!

Yes it is time to bring in the little people. Cleared out a space for them this weekend and will start bringing them in tomorrow.

I need to get over your way, Sharon! Have been seeing your titles of your posts! Looking forward to it!

You're ahead of me, Carol! We have to dig some more kids up! At least one lemon verbena! I'll fill you in later.

Thanks for stopping by, ladies!

Your pineapple sage is sure putting on the show! Because frosts normally come early in our northwoods, my own P. sage never reaches such glorious heights and blooms.
I came across a recipe for Boysenberry & Lemon Verbena Jam...have you ever tried this combo? Must add it to my 2011 Garden List...
Have a fun week with your jellies!

I couldn't live any further north! I'm sad when we have leave so many plants outside. Boysenberry & Lemon Verbena! I don't think I have ever since a boysenberry! Sounds delicious though! Thanks for stopping by TO!

Your Pineapple Sage looks so beatuiful with all that red color in the bloom. I will have to add that to my list of things to get and grow. I am up north in MN & WI visiting family. OH walks in the woods on a gold carpet of fallen leaves is wonderful. Before I left TX I started bringing in a few things, even though we don't freeze until late Nov. Most of my herbs are in the ground and will stay there. I am still learning what will come back and what I will need to replace (or learn to bring inside). I am just getting started so I have a lot to learn. Before I left I tilled up several areas enlarging some of the gardens so there will be more room to plant more wonderfull herbs and flowers. FUN! Sincerely, Emily

I'm busy in the kitchen making pineapple sage jelly today, Emily! It's a fabulous plant. I think it would be hardy for you, you lucky girl! Hopefully, you will have a good winter and you will have lots of herbs coming back next season! Thanks for your comment.
